Day 1: Singapore - Manila (Philippines)

"Manila? What's there to see?" That's the common response we get when we told our friends of our next holiday destination. Well, the reason is simple. With the kid we can't travel too far, and we've been to most of the popular destinations in South East Asia, so we don't have much choice left. Besides, we've never been to Philippines, so this will be a new country and new experience for us.

Changi Airport
Our Singapore airport was pretty festive during this period. They made a lot of effort to put up huge Christmas decorations.

We took an SQ flight to Manila since the airfare was considerably cheap. At only SGD 260, it cost about the same as those budget airline fares.

SQ child activity kit which consists of origami papers and stickers from Madagascar.

So many snacks in the kids meal.

Arrived at Ninoy Aquino airport

The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences
Our hotel is located in Makati, the CBD of Manila. It is also within walking distance to Greenbelt, the high end shopping mall in Manila. More on Greenbelt in other post.

One thing that worth mentioning about this room is the lightings. They could easily be switched on and off by just tapping the surface. Not only that, we could also make it dimmer or brighter by doing the same.

The room comes with the kitchenette.

Jollibee
We went to Jollibee for our dinner, which is just a short walking distance from the hotel. No trip to Philippines is complete without trying the biggest fast food chain in the country.

Meatball spaghetti for her

Fried chicken with rice

The food was very cheap, only cost about SGD 8 for the three of us.
