Day 8: Nice (France) - Pisa (Italy) - Florence

This morning we went to see a French perfumery in Nice. The staffs gave us a tour on how perfume was made and also let us try various kinds of perfume. After this visit, we straight away headed for Italy.

Italy countryside

A mountainous region

Many road tunnels here

Italy, home of pizza!! So when we reached our first service stop here, I straight away ordered one. Here, the pizza was baked on woodfire and the crust was very thin. A slice of pizza was quite huge which was more than enough for one person's consumption. It cost Euro 5 (SGD 10) per slice.

Pisa
A few hours later, we arrived in Pisa. The only attraction here is the Leaning Tower of Pisa. As I walked towards the tower, I saw a lot of street vendors selling fake goods like bags, sunglasses and scarves from Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Fendi. The quality of the imitations were really bad, it was the worst imitation I had ever seen. I could straight away tell it was not original from the brand's logo.

We were told that tourist police were patrolling everywhere and whoever caught buying from those vendors would be fined. Apart from this regulation, if a non-Italy tour guides were caught guiding tourists in this country, they would also be fined. It was really not a tourist-friendly place.

La Torre di Pisa
Pisa tower is a bell tower of the cathedral. The tower was not designed to be "leaning" but something went wrong during the construction. It was not built on solid ground and throughout the years the tower gradually inclined.

Florence
We reached the hotel in the evening, so our city tour would be resumed tomorrow.
