Day 2: Berlin

The minute we stepped out of the hotel, it rained. :( The weather here was colder than Paris, I had already worn all my winter gear but it still felt so cold especially the hands.

Brandenburger Tor (Brandenburg Gate)

Reichstag (The Parliament building)
The Parliament is one of the tourist attractions in Berlin. It is free and we can visit the glass dome which is high enough to see the panoramic view of the city. When we reached there, a long queue had already formed in front of the entrance and we had to queue for 45 minutes under the rain!!

Dem Deutschen Volke = To the German people

The center of the dome

The parliament room is located under the glass panel and it uses the natural light that radiates through the dome.

We could see ourselves from here :)

An art group was performing outside the Parliament building.

Pretzel from the street vendor behind me.

Denkmal fur die ermordeten Juden Europas (Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe), also known as the Holocaust Memorial

Soviet War Memorial at Tiergarten

Siegesaulle (The Victory Column)

Tiergarten park

Kaiser Wilhelm Gedachtniskirche (Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church)
The church is famous for its damaged tower. Next to the tower is a hexagonal building that served as a church. The interior is so cool, very different from those old churches we had seen so far.

Another christmas market near the church.

Schloss Charlottenburg (Charlottenburg Palace)

The bear is not part of the palace. It is installed at the sidewalk on the way to palace hehehe..

Kaufhaus des Westens (KaDeWe)
It claimed to be the biggest department store in Europe.

Christmas tree inside KaDeWe.

It had been raining for a whole day, but it didn't dampen our mood :)
