Day 8: Seoul (Munjeongdong)

Munjeongdong Rodeo Street
This rodeo street is bigger than the one in Mokdong. Those outlets that you could find in Mokdong can also be found here. You could find brands like Nike, Adidas, Ralph Lauren, Guess, Hilfiger etc and also some local brand names that usually found in big department stores. Pricing wise, it wasn't as inexpensive as in the market but still cheaper than Lotte or Shinsegae. Actually for those international brands, the price was definitely lower in US factory outlets.

The shops

More shops

It was a cold and rainy day, I got hungry at 11.30 am so we went to have our lunch first. :P

The restaurant

Wow, this is romantic.

We requested for a private room.

Painting in the room.

My shopping partner

We could close the lace curtain for more privacy. :D

Seafood spaghetti

Seafood fried rice

Mismatched cup and saucer

The food was just so so but the ambience made up for it.

After fully recharged, we continued our shopping for the whole afternoon but we didn't have much luck. I only got a New Balance shoes, it wasn't my choice of brand, but the shoes was very light, quite stylish and cost a lot cheaper than Nike, Adidas, or Puma. At KRW 59,500 (SGD 70), I think it was difficult to get something this light in Singapore.

At night, 4 of us including hubbies were having dinner together. We ordered some BBQ beef, pork and ginseng chicken soup.

After having both BBQ beef and pork, I think next time I should just order BBQ pork. It was tastier, came in bigger portion and cheaper. Beef was rather bland and the portion was so small.

The side dishes

Grilled on top of charcoal stove. That's a smoke vacuum on top.

Marinated pork

I just knew that these were called sesame leaves. It was my favourite, the leaf had a strong flavour like basil leaves. Some people might not like it.

Fresh leaves

We ordered two bowls of chicken ginseng soup to share. It wasn't good, no ginseng taste at all. :( I would try this again somewhere else.

Samgyetang (chicken ginseng soup)
