Day 5: Glasgow

Glasgow was like a ghost town on Christmas day. No buses, no trains, and the shops including fast food joints were closed. Only a few convenience stores stayed open.

We bought a few cups of instant noodle and some biscuits just in case we couldn't find anything to eat. It was a very different picture in Singapore where the shopping malls and restaurants were so crowded and the people stayed late partying.

I don't think Glasgow is a tourism city after all because there was no souvenir shop at all even though we kept a look out everywhere we went. We saw some postcards in the convenience stores but no fridge magnets. :(

City Center

The main shopping street was so empty!!

George Square

City Chambers

Glasgow Necropolis

Glasgow Cathedral

Tolbooth Steeple

People's Palace

St Andrews in the square

We were so happy to find a fish and chip shop open on our way back to hotel. :)

What a fantastic trip you had! Just a pity you came to Glasgow on Christmas Day - one of the two days Glasgow closes for business (the other being New Years day)!
