Day 2: Taipei

Cheers, Hyatt
We had our lunch here, ordered a club sandwich for him and braised mince pork with rice for me. The place was quite posh with nice ambience.

Club sandwich with several condiments to choose from.

Braised mince pork with rice - this was yummy :)

Shopping at Xinyi district
After lunch, I went to Taipei 101 mall which was just across the road. Walked around for a while and then continued to nearby malls.

Shops at Taipei 101

New York New York
Not many shops inside this mall, there is a Marks and Spencer and one department store selling cute Japanese products.

Statue of Liberty in front of the mall

Shin Kong Mitsukoshi
It is the biggest department store I know in Taipei. It has four buildings stocked up with high end branded goods.

A government building with cute faces around it.

Not much story to tell here, I just kept browsing from one shop to another for a few hours without a single buy. Everything was so expensive, brands like Mango, Zara, or even Giordano were priced higher than Singapore. Not a fruitful day. :(

Cafe, Hyatt
The cafe was fully packed with locals rather than tourists or business people who stayed at the hotel. The Taiwanese crowd were mostly youngsters from teenagers to young couple in their 20's. It kept me wondering how good the standard of living here.

Anyway, we ordered from ala carte menu instead of their popular buffet. His wanton noodle was too plain, but my beef noodle was still as yummy as the one yesterday.

It would be a shopping marathon for the next few days. :P
