Day 4: Washington DC - New York - Buffalo - Niagara Falls (USA, Canada)

Instead of taking a 9-hour bus from Washington DC to Niagara Falls, we opted for an air transportation that only took 3 hours including a short transit at JFK Airport in New York.

jetBlue at Dulles airport

jetBlue air ticket only cost USD 100 per person including taxes. Its service and entertainment on board is the best among those budget airlines I took in Europe or around South East Asia. It certainly wasn't feel like budget at all as complimentary drinks and snacks were served on board. Furthermore, there are at least 20 TV channels to watch. TV content is a great idea because a movie will be too long to watch in a short duration flight. Music channels are plenty as well. On top of all these, they gave out mascara for each ladies passengers. How could all these be possible for a budget airline??

A complimentary snack on board

Blue potato chips - what a cool name but actually it is ubi lah.. :)

Buffalo Airport

From Buffalo airport, we took a shuttle bus to Niagara Falls. We were going to explore the USA side of Niagara Falls, take Maid of the Mist cruise and then cross border to Canada and stay overnight there.

Niagara Falls, USA
The Maid of the Mist entrance is located in Niagara Reservation State Park. We bought tickets for the next departure and then walked around the park to get a view of the falls.

Raging water

The birds were oblivious to surroundings

Took the elevator down for Maid of the Mist.

I'm ready to meet the Falls!!

That's our boat.

Very windy as we got nearer

Bridal Veil Falls

See the yellow dots on the right, those are the people doing Cave of the Winds.

Posed with Bridal Veil Falls

And finally, the mother of all rains..

Horseshoe Falls

The strong wind plus the water from the Falls sent us to take cover when the boat stopped in front of the Horseshoe Falls. We were worried for our camera lens.

I survived!

One last view of the Falls from USA

Crossing border to Canada

Yes, we walked to Canada hahahha...

Niagara Falls, Canada
Once we reached Canada, we took a cab to our hotel. The taximeter increases 5 cents for every second. That means a 3 min ride is CAD 10!

Radisson Hotel & Suites Fallsview
The room was just alright, we reserved a city view which turned out to be a carpark view. :P But it had a jacuzzi tub. :)

With microwave and fridge

Niagara Fallsview Casino
Went for dinner at the casino which was only a few minutes from our hotel.

My limo :P

Futuristic fountain

It was raining heavily when we finished our dinner. We canceled our plan to watch the Falls Night Illumination and went back to hotel. The fireworks was also canceled for the night. :(
